Tindari and laghetti di Marinello
The shrine of the black Madonna of Tindari, the archeological area and the Greek theatre are situated only a few kilometers far from the village. The site faces the Marinello nature reserve, a place of cultural and natural interest, with its small lakes and wonderful beaches.
Eolie Islands
No need to introduce Eolie islands, one of the most beautiful places in the world. In the Vulcano island you can bath in the sulfur mud puddles, which is healthy for the skin and the lungs. The black beaches are surely worth a tour. Lipari is the largest island in the Eolie archipelago. In the beautiful town you’ll can taste capperi and Malvasia. Panarea is frequented by many VIPs, who appreciate its tranquility, the hidden beaches, and the fact that car circulation is strictly forbidden all over the island. Stromboli is renowned for the Sciara del Fuoco, an awesome natural show. Any evening it is possible to admire a volcanic explosion from the sea, with lava jets high up to 50 meters! Alicudi, Salina and Filicudi are green and wild islands, ideal for relax.
Cefalù
Not far from Palermo, the small mediaeval town of Cefalù greets every year thousands of tourists who come to visit the celebrated cathedral which belongs to the UNESCO’s world heritage list. One can also relax on the beach in Lido di Cefalù, known for crystalline water and golden sand.
Montalbano Elicona
Montalbano Elicona is renowned for a mediaeval castle situated on a hill and dominating the town. It is located 900 meters above sea level, and it is one of the nine Sicilian towns which belong to the Club dei Borghi più Belli d’Italia (Most Beautiful Italian Towns Club). It is worth a visit by anyone who loves history, nature, folklore as well as food and wine. A very interesting site nearby is Argimusco, with its mysterious megaliths.
Milazzo
Milazzo is a town with a wonderful ancient district and a castle. The peninsula where it is located is an attractive area with a number of rocky coves.
Taormina
Taormina is situated on a breathtaking position, suspended between rocks and the sea, on a natural balcony of Mount Tauro.It’s a wonderful place with mediaeval churches and a renowned Greek theater.The view from Taormina on Naxos gulf and Mount Etna is spectacular.
Catania
The city centre is in the UNESCO’s world heritage list. Magnificent black and white buildings face baroque squares and lively markets. ETNA: It is possible to go on guided tours of the highest volcano in Europe.
Palermo
Palermo is less than 200 km from Tindari Village and can be visited in one day. With its cathedrals, its palaces, its markets, the vibrancy of the Palermitans and the excellent cuisine, you will enjoy an unforgettable experience. To get an idea of the culture of this city, you have to visit the old part, where the variety of architectural styles and the physiognomy of the Palermitans are testament to the numerous foreign peoples who passed in the course of history.
Santo Stefano di Camastra
S. Stefano di Camastra, or the town of ceramics, is located at the border between the provinces of Palermo and Messina. A special town, where pottery, tiles and mosaics made of coloured ceramics can be seen everywhere.
